2022 will be a milestone in the implementation of document automation for corporations

Bigle Legal, the legal ops technology company, talks about the potential of this market in the UK for sectors such as banking, insurance or consumer goods

Legal departments will triple their spending on legal technology by 2025.

The legal operations software market has great potential for growth in the UK. Sectors such as banking, insurance or consumer goods, among others, are likely to invest in this technology during 2022.

According to Bigle Legal, European leader all-in-one document automation platform, most corporations work with manual and decentralised operations that seriously expose companies to legal risks, severe sanctions for non-compliance or unfortunate leaks of information. The implementation of a document automation solution produces very high benefits and digitisation potential for companies.  For this reason, legal advisors in the UK are increasingly prioritising legal technology and automation to manage progressively complex needs. Legal departments will triple their spending on legal technology by 2025. Notably, the UK is third only to the US and China in venture capital investment in technology, as LawtechUK explains, reaching a record $15 billion in 2020.

Sergio Esteve de Miguel, co-Founder and UK spokesperson for Bigle Legal, explains: "The potential to reduce legal risks for the company, as well as to save time and simplify processes is enormous." He adds that each company can tailor the technological solution to suit its needs: "The possibilities are endless." Sergio says that most companies are not aware of the possibilities offered by this kind of solution: “Document automation gives control to the legal team and ensures compliance of all the documents managed by the company.”

Contrary to what many companies think, Bigle Legal's co-Founder explains that using cloud storage platforms such as Google Drive or Docusign does not mean automation or digitisation. It is just not enough: the world is evolving and has already gone a step further in terms of functionalities. "An all-in-one document automation solution allows not only reducing errors to zero but also speeding up the time it takes to draft, review, negotiate, sign and store a document by 20x," adds Sergio. He points out that advanced electronic signatures, live collaboration on contracts and automated workflows are already being implemented in large companies.

A document automation solution adds value to the brand in the customer's eyes and provides great knowledge management capabilities to the companies and ensures the quality of the documents that we deliver".

Francesc Muñoz, CIO of the international law firm Cuatrecasas, agrees with him and explains that in his company, they observe how clients, large companies and legal departments are asking for help, demanding technology for their document processes. “A document automation solution adds value to the brand in the customer's eyes and provides great knowledge management capabilities to the companies and ensures the quality of the documents that we deliver".

Bigle Legal reaches the UK market

The legal operations solution opened its central London office last November, from which it is expanding into a growing market. The technology company, headquartered in Barcelona, has clients such as Cuatrecasas, Iris Global and Aigües de Barcelona, the company that provides water to the city of Barcelona.
